You Were Made To Belong
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
September 13th Sermon, Day 2
There is something quietly powerful about knowing you belong somewhere. Not just that you are tolerated or included, but that you are actually needed. Paul describes the church as a body, and every part matters. A hand is not a foot. An eye is not an ear. But remove any one of them, and the whole body suffers.
That is not just a clever illustration. It is a picture of how God designed His people to live together. Your faith is personal. Your story, your struggles, your relationship with God are uniquely yours. But personal was never meant to mean isolated. You were not saved to sit on the sidelines. You were saved to be part of something, to contribute something that only you can bring. Maybe you have been watching from a distance, unsure if you really fit or if you are truly needed. Here is the encouragement for today: you are. The body is not complete without you. God placed you exactly where He did on purpose, and the people around you need what only you carry. You belong here, and this community is better because you are in it.
Bible Verse
"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." - Romans 12:4-5
Reflection Question
In what ways might you be holding back from fully participating in community, and what would it look like to take one small step toward deeper belonging this week?
Quote
"Each member belongs to all the others, and you belong to this body, and this body needs you."
Prayer
Father, remind me today that I am not an accident in this body. Help me to show up fully, to offer what I have, and to trust that You placed me here for a reason. Amen.
