Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
November 1st Sermon, Day 5
All week, we've been sitting with the story of manna in the desert. Provision that made no sense. Grace that showed up daily. A God who fed a large traveling group in a barren wilderness just because they needed it. But that story was always pointing somewhere. In John chapter 6, Jesus looked back at the manna and said something stunning: "I am the bread of life."
The desert provision wasn't just a historical miracle. It was a preview. God was showing the world, centuries in advance, that He would one day send the ultimate provision in the form of His own Son. The God who rained down bread in the wilderness is the same God who did not hold back Jesus. And if He gave us His Son, how will He not also take care of everything else we need? That's the foundation beneath all of this. Daily trust, honest prayer, building your manna list: all of it rests on the reality that God has already made His greatest move on your behalf. He sent Jesus. He is for you. Whatever you're facing today, you are not facing it alone. He's got you today. And when tomorrow comes, He'll be there before you are. You can really, truly trust Him.
Bible Verse
"Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.'" - John 6:35
Reflection Question
Knowing that God did not hold back His own Son for you, how does that change the way you approach the needs and fears you're carrying right now?
Quote
"The God who rained down manna in the desert is the same God who sent His son to meet your deepest need."
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being the ultimate provision, the bread of life who meets my deepest need. Help me to trust You fully today, knowing that the God who gave everything is the same God who holds my future. Amen.
