You’re Not Alone in This
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
August 23rd Sermon, Day 1
There are moments in life when difficulty feels uniquely yours. Like no one has ever carried what you are carrying. Like you are the only one who has ever felt this lost, this tired, or this uncertain about what comes next.
But you are not the first person to walk through a hard season. Hebrews 11 introduces us to real people, Abraham, Sarah, Noah, Moses, people who faced impossible circumstances and still chose to trust God. They were not superhuman. They were ordinary people who held on when holding on was hard.
Their stories were preserved not just as history, but as a gift for you. A reminder that others have walked through the dark and come out the other side. That God was faithful to them, and He will be faithful to you. When you feel isolated in your struggle, let their stories remind you that you are part of something much bigger. A long line of people who chose faith over fear, one uncertain step at a time. You belong to that story too.
Bible Verse
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for." - Hebrews 11:1-2
Reflection Question
When you are in a hard season, do you tend to isolate yourself in your struggle, and what might change if you actively looked for examples of others who have walked through difficulty with faith?
Quote
"There are times in all of our lives when we need to hear the story of somebody else who got through hard times in their life."
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the reminder that I am not alone in what I am facing. Help me find strength and courage in the stories of those who trusted You before me. Amen.
