One Step Is Enough

August 23rd Sermon, Day 2

Most of us want a plan. We want to see the destination before we take the first step. We want God to hand us a detailed map so we can feel confident before we move. But that is rarely how faith works. Abraham left his home without knowing where he was going. He did not have a schedule or a final destination. He simply heard God say go, and He went.

That kind of trust is uncomfortable. It requires letting go of control and choosing to believe that God knows the way even when you do not. Here is the encouraging truth: God does not ask you to see the whole road. He just asks you to trust Him with the next step. One step. That is it. And when you take that step, He will show you the one after that. You do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need to see miles down the road. You just need enough light for where you are standing right now. And God, in His faithfulness, always provides exactly that.

Bible Verse

"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." - Hebrews 11:8

Reflection Question

Is there an area of your life right now where God may be asking you to take a step forward, even though you cannot yet see where it leads?

Prayer

Father, help me release my need to see the full picture and trust You with just the next step. Give me the courage to move forward in faith today. Amen.
