Faith Doesn’t Remove the Hard Times

August 23rd Sermon, Day 3

One of the most honest things we can acknowledge about faith is this: it does not make life easy. It does not fast-forward through the painful chapters or erase the waiting. Abraham waited. Sarah waited. The heroes of Hebrews 11 all faced real difficulty, real disappointment, and real uncertainty. Their faith did not protect them from hard times. It carried them through hard times. That is a crucial difference.

Sometimes we quietly believe that if we trust God enough, the difficulty will disappear. But faith is not a shield from struggle. It is the strength to keep walking through it. It is the quiet confidence that God is present even when circumstances say otherwise. If you are in a waiting season right now, you are in good company. And the waiting, as hard as it is, is not wasted. God is doing something in you during the in-between that could not happen any other way. Hold on. Keep trusting. The waiting has a purpose.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6

God, waiting is hard, and I will not pretend otherwise. Help me trust that You are working even when I cannot see it, and give me the patience to hold on. Amen.
