August 23rd Sermon, Day 5

When you have been running hard and you are exhausted, the temptation is to look down. To focus on how far you still have to go, how tired you are, or how uncertain the road ahead looks. Hebrews 12 gives us a better direction: look up. Fix your eyes on Jesus. He is not a distant observer. He is the pioneer and perfecter of faith. He walked through suffering Himself. He endured the cross, did not give up, and now sits at the right hand of God. He understands what it feels like to be in the hardest moment of your story.

When you are worn out, the answer is not to find more willpower. It is to look to the One who is strong enough to carry you. Life is not about pretending you can handle everything. It is about discovering that Christ can carry you when you cannot. You may not know how this chapter ends. But you know who holds the story. And that is enough to take the next step.

"Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2

Reflection Question

When life feels overwhelming, what does it practically look like for you to fix your eyes on Jesus rather than on your circumstances?

Prayer

Jesus, when I am exhausted and cannot see the way forward, help me look to You. You are strong enough to carry what I cannot, and I trust You with my story. Amen.
