An Invitation You Don’t Have to Earn

Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church

August 30th Sermon, Day 1

There are two kinds of tired. One is fixed with sleep. The other is the kind that follows you into the morning, the kind that no vacation can touch. It is the weight of worry, regret, grief, or uncertainty that settles deep in your chest and refuses to leave.

If you are carrying that kind of tired right now, you are not alone. And you are not invisible. Jesus sees your burden. Not just the surface-level stress, but the real weight underneath it. And His response is not frustration or disappointment. It is an open invitation with no conditions attached. He does not say, "Clean yourself up and then come." He does not say, "Figure it out first." He simply says, come. Come as you are, with everything you are carrying, and He will give you rest.

That is not a promise built on your performance. It is a promise built on His character. He is not waiting for you to have it all together. He is waiting for you. If today feels heavy, let this be your starting point. Not a to-do list. Not a five-step plan. Just an honest step toward the One who already knows what you are carrying and is ready to meet you there.

Bible Verse

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28

Reflection Question

What burden have you been carrying that you have not yet brought honestly to Jesus?

Quote

"Jesus sees your burden. Jesus sees you and He sees your burden, which means you don't have to explain it to Him."

Prayer

Lord, thank You that Your invitation has no conditions. Help me to come to You today, exactly as I am, and to trust that You are enough. Amen.
