An Invitation For The Exhausted
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
September 6th Sermon, Day 1
There is a kind of tired that sleep cannot fix. You know the feeling. You wake up already carrying yesterday's weight, bracing for what today might bring. It is not your body that is worn out. It is something deeper, something in your soul. Jesus sees that. He saw it then, and He sees it now. His words in Matthew 11 were not directed at people who had it together. They were spoken to people who were running on empty, crushed under burdens they were never meant to carry alone. His invitation is simple and direct: come. Not "clean yourself up first" or "figure things out and then come." Just come. As you are. Where you are.
That is the kind of Savior Jesus is. He is not waiting for you to have the right words or the right posture. He is waiting for you. And He is ready to meet you in the middle of your mess, your exhaustion, and your uncertainty. You do not have to keep carrying this alone. There is rest available to you today, not the kind that comes from a good nap, but the kind that settles deep into your soul and changes how you carry everything else. Take a breath. You are invited.
Bible Verse
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
Reflection Question
What burden have you been carrying on your own that you have not yet brought to Jesus?
Quote
"In the middle of all of that burden, Jesus comes along and He says, come to me. Let me share that. Let me take that for you."
Prayer
Jesus, I am tired in ways I cannot always explain. Thank You for seeing me and inviting me to come just as I am. Teach me to bring my burdens to You instead of carrying them alone.
