Faithful, Not Perfect
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
June 7th Sermon, Day 4
Here's liberating news: you're not responsible for the results when you share your faith. Your job is faithfulness, not performance. The Holy Spirit empowers us to share and witness, but only God changes hearts.
This truth should remove the pressure we often feel to say everything perfectly or to see immediate transformation in others. You might stumble over your words, forget important points, or feel like you didn't explain things clearly. That's okay. God can use imperfect conversations and incomplete explanations. What matters is your obedience to share when the Spirit prompts you. A bold witness is also a humble witness - it can be quiet, gentle, and patient. It's characterized by love and kindness rather than force or pressure.
When we understand that we're simply planting seeds that God will grow in His timing, we can share with confidence and peace. We're called to be faithful messengers, trusting that God will do the heart-changing work that only He can do.
Bible Verse
'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.' - Acts 1:8
Reflection Question
How does knowing that results aren't your responsibility change the way you approach sharing your faith?
Quote
When you share your faith in Jesus with others, the results aren't your responsibility. Isn't that good to know?
Prayer
Father, thank You that I'm called to faithfulness, not perfection. Help me trust You with the results as I obediently share Your love.
