The Journey Just Began
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
June 14th Sermon, Day 1
Accepting Christ isn't the finish line—it's the starting point of an incredible transformation journey. Many new believers feel discouraged when they realize they still struggle with old habits and temptations. They wonder if their faith is real or if they're doing something wrong. But here's the beautiful truth: your salvation was never meant to be a one-time fix that instantly perfects you. Instead, it's the beginning of a lifelong adventure where God shapes you more and more into the image of His Son.
Think of it like moving into a new house. The moment you sign the papers, the house is yours completely. But then comes the exciting process of renovating, decorating, and making it truly feel like home. That's exactly what happens when you become a Christian. You immediately belong to God's family, but He lovingly spends your lifetime renovating every room of your heart. The struggles you face aren't evidence that God has abandoned you or that your faith isn't working. They're actually proof that something beautiful and powerful is happening inside you.
Bible Verse
'Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.' - Philippians 1:6
