From “Talking About” to “Speaking To”
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
March 29th Sermon, Day 3
There's a crucial shift that happens in our spiritual journey – moving from talking to God about our mountains to speaking to the mountains themselves in Jesus' name. Both are important, but they represent different seasons of faith. Talking to God about your struggles is where everything begins. You bring your fears, doubts, and obstacles to Him in prayer. This builds relationship and trust.
But there comes a time when God calls you to step into greater authority – not your own authority, but His authority working through you. Speaking to your mountain isn't about denying reality or speaking from arrogance. It's about declaring God's greater authority over your circumstances. It's aligning your words with God's promises rather than your problems. Whether you're facing fear, broken relationships, persistent habits, or unfulfilled callings, there may come a moment when God stirs something in your spirit. You sense it's time to stop just praying about the situation and start declaring God's power over it. This shift requires discernment and alignment with God's Spirit. You're not declaring your power; you're declaring His. You're not speaking from your strength; you're speaking from His promises.
Bible Verse
'What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of "God bless it! God bless it!"' - Zechariah 4:7

Lord, give me wisdom to know when to pray about my mountains and when to speak to them in Your name. Help me align with Your Spirit.
