Embracing the Process
Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church
March 29th Sermon, Day 4
We want breakthrough, so we resist the process. We want the miracle, but we overlook the mundane. This tension is real for every believer who desires to see God move in their life. The truth is, God often needs to grow our roots before He can grow us up. Just like that bamboo tree, the most important work happens underground, out of sight. This season might feel frustrating, but it's not wasted time – it's preparation time.
Transformation rarely feels dramatic in the moment. People we consider overnight successes usually have stories of years of struggle and practice. The same is true in our spiritual lives. Character is built in the quiet moments, faith is strengthened through waiting, and wisdom comes through experience. Every step you take matters, even when you can't see the destination.
Every prayer whispered in the dark, every choice to trust when you don't understand, every act of obedience when you'd rather quit – it's all building something beautiful beneath the surface. Don't despise the process. Embrace it. God is using this time to prepare you for what He has planned. The foundation He's building in you now will support the breakthrough He's preparing for later.
Bible Verse
'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty. - Zechariah 4:6
Reflection Question
How can you better embrace the process of growth instead of just focusing on the desired outcome?

God, help me trust Your process and timing. Give me patience to grow strong roots while I wait for visible breakthrough.
