Something is Happening

Sunday Rewind is a 5-day Devotional based on the weekly sermon at Resonate Community Church

March 29th Sermon, Day 5

If you feel a desire to grow, to overcome, to step into something new, that's not random. God is stirring something in your heart. Even when you can't see evidence of change, something is happening beneath the surface. Seeds have been planted. Roots are growing. Foundations have been laid. All your whispered prayers, all your steps of faith, every act of obedience that no one sees – it all matters and it's all necessary.

A 90-foot tree is invisible at some point, but something is always happening. The same is true in your spiritual life. What God starts gradually, He will finish suddenly. Scripture and experience tell us that God is always at work, always beneath the surface, and when the time is right, what's been happening gradually becomes suddenly visible.

You might feel like nothing is changing, but keep believing. Keep taking those small steps of obedience. Keep praying, keep trusting, keep moving forward. The breakthrough you're longing for is being prepared in the unseen realm. Remember, when you're born, you look like your parents. When you die, you look like your decisions. Every choice you make today is shaping who you're becoming. Trust that God is working, even when you can't see it.

Bible Verse

'The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.' - Zechariah 4:9

Reflection Question

What evidence can you see of God's gradual work in your life, even if the breakthrough hasn't come yet?

Quote

Remember, a 90 foot tree is invisible at some point, but something is happening. So keep believing that something is happening.

Prayer

Lord, increase my faith to believe that You are working even when I can't see it. Help me keep moving forward in trust.
